Tire Ratings

Been looking at some tires. some tires are rated c while others are rated e. the e have a higher load capacity because they are like 10 ply instead of 6 ply which is what the c s have. the e s also have a higher psi but cost around the same. whats the catch? is it gas mileage or ride comfort? im not sure. would be gracious if yall helped me out here.
