.... has a storage space under the area where a smaller replacement aftermarket CD player would go? I want to put a kenwood in my 2 day old X but want to have usable space under the stereo instead of just a plain black plastic panel like most kits have for other vehicles. Thanks in advance!

Yes they do. I have one under mine. I bought the stereo from Crutchfield and they sent a pocket with it. I know Best Buy also has them to feel in the space if they do the install for you.

I had a small company install my stereo and he didn't have the install kit for the X. I went to Circuit City and bought just the kit. Theirs also includes the pocket to fill the space. They have different types, some that are just open, to toss anything in there and some that have the slots to store CD's.
