Double Din Head Unit Recommendation

i'm looking for a head unit to replace the factory one. anybody have ideas? my budget is $1,000 for a head unit, sub, amp and changer. is there anything i SHOULD NOT get?

i tend to offroad quite a bit and need something w/ proven stability.
