Restraint system warning light - 15/10/02 05:56 AM

Here's my delema...A couple weeks ago my air bag/pretensioner warning light started flashing. Dealer replaced the front passenger seat belt and last night it started flashing again. Anyone else had this "electrical temper tantrum" happen to them.

According to the service manager @ the dealership, the restraint system (airbags and seatbelt pretensioners) are lumped into one diagnostic sensor. When you start the vehicle, it runs through its self check. When there is a problem with a component in the safety system, that one indicator light flashes. In the manager's words this morning, "There are a bunch of things that are hooked up to that sensor, but don't worry, we'll find it!" I felt like saying, "On the second try, eh?" He asked what I was doing when the light came on again. I told him I was turning left. He came back with, "From now on, only turn right." Yea...

Also, the plugs that are underneath the front seats, and the diagnostic box under the console. But since they replaced the seat belt, theres a good chance they bent a terminal on the yellow pre-tensioner plug. this is very easy to do. Have them check that.
