I don't know what exactly it's called. I actually hate that little thing as it got in the way when I tried to install my red top with dual posts.
Here's a website though that either you or someone else here might be able to break-down better then me.

Thanks a lot Eric, I was just too angry I was unable to do a proper search. I guess there is a way to remove the battery terminal without destroying it but such a process eludes me.
All I wanted to do was swap batteries and it turned out to be delicate surgery for someone with delicate ways. I am just not that person.

i also need that part for my xterra, i did not break that piece like you have but its been cooked and i feel that i need to replace it so to eliminate any future problems. would you post the actual part number. thanks

The wife went to ABC nissan here in Phoenix, numbers off the reciept are as follows.
24380-89914 Holder-FU
24340-7F000 Connector
I will shoot some shots and post just how flimsy they are after I build a bracket to move this assembly away from the battery and connect a marine cable to the battery.
