Help ElectroKen... Alarm doing wierd things - 13/02/01 11:33 AM
Hey Ken,
New challenge.
2000 Xterra SE Auto
Here's the scoop. When you arm the Xterra alarm the horn should toot and the lights should flash twice (not in silent mode, silent mode, lights flash twice only) and of course all doors lock.
My truck, when you arm the alarm, only the horn toots and the doors lock but no lights flash. In silent mode the only thing that happens is the doors lock... no toot (supposed to be that way) and no lights flash (that's bad)
I've read the the instruction manual to confirm this and I've also ensured all doors are properly closed. I've also checked a multitude of fuses...What next?
shwlark documented this very same problem in a previous "problems and annoyances" thread. He said that he fixed his by replacing a fuse that was seperate from the "anti-horn" fuse. I've posted a reply asking which fuse this is. No Reply though
I've checked almost every fuse under the hood and in the internal fuse box...
Could you tell me where this "fuse/relay" may be or give me some pointers into tracking down the source of this problem.
Thanks again.
