Alpine

I've got a high end alpine and its great. Its one of the few head units that has 60w x 4 peak which means you only need one amp to drive the sub. I've got 6 1/2" polks up front with seperate tweeters mounted in the stock location and polk 6x9 3-ways in the rear - crossovers all around. That plus a 300w pioneer amp driving a 10" MTX Thunder 8000 sub makes for a stereo that will rattle the teeth out of your head. I put about $1200 into it but you could save quite a bit if you went through ebay instead of Circuit City like I did. It's not a competition stereo system but it sounds about 5000 times better than the stock.

I also put in an Alpine head unit - the new 9815 -

Pioneer 220W 6.5" in front, 100W tweeters
Pioneer 330W 6x9 in back
JL Audio 300/2 Bridged
JL Audio W3v2 12" 300W

head banging baby.....

Oh yeah I also put in an Optima battery 910Amps to power that sucker without a hitch.....

I'm thinking about adding another Sub in the front..... gotta figure out where to put it though......
