Holy Shit! eek That is huge! What axle is that in the front? I'm not worried about having someone to pull me out of the mud now!

No silly without IFS!

(but you are forgeting no steering, breaks, or driveshafts too) [Wave] PS if you don't know me I am just over here playing around. I am an Xterra Fan just don't drive one. But I do occasionally get to loan my tools and driveway to one particular Xterra owner (no name mentioned)...

Ohh I'll get her stuck! Even if she is locked front and rear now [Laughing]

Its a Dana 44 off a 1976 Bronco. Almost done. "Should" be driving out of the garage this weekend. So you may see it this weekend cruising around broad ripple looking for little cars to crush [Smoking]

Well... one look at the axle will tell you that, it just looks as though the springs are readty to compress themselves right out of their collars. Wouldn't want to be near them when they did...

they can't they are clamped at both ends. in person it doesn't look as bad. My frame rails are just a tad wider than that of an Early Bronco causing them to bow just a bit. They aren't coming out of there.

If it can be done on this thing it surely can be done on an Xterra. i know there has been talk over here about it and can't wait to see someone do it.

The Rubber Ducky is happy that Dave's garage and tool rental has been open since last winter. Yes, it's heated too! No CC's needed, just bring beer!

[Wave]

Looks good, Dave! I'll have to swing by soon and check it out in person.

Just don't droop the passenger side tire, that Heim joint on the pitman arm won't last long.

Re: When we gonna see an Xterra like this? - 09/06/03 04:37 AM

all the bugs arn't worked out. But once they are that heim should last a while. Putting a drop pitman arm on there in a couple days.. Why do you think it won't? (just looking for some insight here to make things better)

Here is the same steering setup in a flexing situation... (heims are very common on steering, just have to keep the angles down as much as possible, but there is a lot of travel allowed)
