Utility Trailers - 07/08/03 11:35 AM

Question for you all - I'm considering buying a 4x8 or 5x8 utility trailer and don't wanna spend too much.

Fingers crossed, we get our house in about a week so having one for the move is my obvious goal.

Anybody have any recommendations on where they may have bought theirs or know of a place to get one?

Thanks in advance.

There's a small place right off I-17 (aBout Deer Valley) that always has a few out front for sale.

They look pretty nice. I want to get or build a small one with big tires for camping gear and stuff.

Cool, thank for the advice guys.

I'm inquiring on a few in the classifieds as well. I'll see what I can find. I'd love to get a small one as well and get some 33's for it. laugh

Iggy - If $$ weren't an issue I'd have one of those in a second. They're awesome, but unless you get really lucky you pay at least 300 or 400 for a really crappy one. I've seen restored ones (M416) go for nearly $1,500. eek

I've been viewing this board for months and haven't seen much out on the left coast (that I could afford, that is). http://www.g503.com/forums/

Hey, thanks again, guys.

Yeah, I saw the HF one, but it looks a tad too "light" for my use.

And the M416 type ones, thanks for the links. I have seen those sites recently. Some are pretty good deals but those deals always seem to be back East. Hmmm... [Too much XOC]

I'm looking at a 4x6 one tomorrow in PHX for under $500, and it has a ramp. We'll see how it goes. smile

It looks similar to this larger one (so I'm told):

Hey John...I've got a 6X12 just like that one but without the ramp if you want to save some cash and borrow it. My sandrail is sitting on it in storage right at the moment. I'll gladly roll the rail off of it if you want to use it.

It even has a spare tire laugh

Thanks a ton for the offer, Mike, but I dove in and made the purchase this morning. Maybe I'll borrow the sandrail instead? wink Found a pretty solid 4x6 and I got it for $425.

It will also take a bigger tire/wheel combo too - if I ever needed to take it offroad it's small enough to haul a boatload of gear or whatever. ...and dammit!!, do I have to modify everything that has wheels? laugh

The guy has to remove his tool boxes and is delivering it to me tomorrow. Guess I'd better get an 8" drop hitch for the J**p bumper on my X too... [Laughing]
