Rear bumper!

Rear bumper! - 07/04/06 09:07 PM

It arrived today!

Jim makes the highest quality stuff. So easy to install and great fit and finish! Saw it be the door when the realtor was leaving and I put it on the X tonight. Just need to finally wire up the CB.

It was so nice to take a break from getting the house ready to sell. I actually felt relaxed as I did this. [drink] [drink] [drink] [drink] [Too much XOC]

Very cool. Doing anything to the truck is like therapy.

Sweet!....Cannot wait for mine...should be this week. I got the 2 front skids today, so the bumpers should not be far behind. [ThumbsUp]

About how long did it take for removal of the old one and mounting the new one? Mine's sitting at the house waiting for me to get home next weekend.

It did not take long at all... except for me having to watch my boy, Gunnar while I was trying to work on it. Had to remove the hitch, disconnect wiring, and then remove the bumper. All time total, except for running the CB cable was about 2 hours, not including time to chase the boy, eat dinner, or drink a beer or two...

Since I wasn't going to drill this bumper like the stock bumper... I making a mounting bracket for the 7-pin under the truck where the spare used to mount. Currently the 7-pin is zip-tied to the underside of the truck.

I'll post picks after I get the mount done.

I happen to know someone else who installed her rear bumper over the weekend, but she's been very quiet since her return! Don't blame her really - time to spend with the family, it looks awesome tho. I helped briefely with removing her original hitch on Saturday.

I see you got the second series of the bumpers. The nicely bevelled nylon pad and I bet your rear hatch doesn't come scarily close to the high lift either. That is the way my buddy's rear bumper is. We put the trucks side-by-side and did the comparison.

SHHHHH! Roger, that was a secret. [Finger] I know already, this means nothing without pics, bla bla bla! I was waiting to take them when I went to the lake this Saturday. Why take take them of a clean truck? :p By the way thanks for the help. The exhaust didn't go so well, didn't have all of the right tools to get that one done, but it will be by tomorrow. I'm very pleased with my choice of air intake. Roger you should have showed up earlier, I would have put you to work on that one. Thanks Volant for no instructions, but I winged it and got it in.
