Local CB Shop ???

Local CB Shop ??? - 29/05/07 11:05 PM

Can anyone recommend a good, local CB install shop? I was looking at the Cobra 29 at Radio Shack today, but I do not want to install it myself. Is this a good CB, or are there better ones? What kind of antenna do you recommend?

Any old CB will work just fine for ya, especially if you get a good antenna and mic.

Give Onix a call or message. He installed mine in less than 5 minutes (I routed the antenna wire beforehand). He did a super clean job too. I would recommend getting a 'whip style' antenna and do not go with the ground-less type...mine sucked. I am getting a new one soon.

29 is a great model.

A lot of use with better CB's (and there is a big difference) use the Wilson 1000.

I get most of the stuff i need from one of the truck stops along I-10. Pilot, Flying J....probably more expensive, but on my home from work, and don't have to wait for delivery.

Not wanting to drive "all the way" to Mesa, I found a place on the west side of Phoenix (technically Glendale) called Apollo Communications. They are at 43rd ave and Northern on the NW corner.

Ended up going with the Uniden Pro 520xl CB and Wilson 5000 antenna. The CB is mounted underneath the factory CD changer. The Cobra 29 seemed way to big for that area, unless you do some major trimming.

Randy over at Apollo Communications did the install.

Can't wait to try it out on the trails...
