Jeez, what did Mosi do to you guys? confused I hope that this means that there's a Gen 2 in your future and not that you're going to go "four-door-sedan" on us...

Man, I wish there was a Gen2 in the future. Right now though the $100 a week in gas I'm putting in is whats killing me, so yeah, I'm going "4 door sedan". Well, actually I'm looking at a Protege5, and they're technically called a 5 door.... just saying.

Welcome to SUV ownership in the world of $3/gallon gas...sorry to hear it's tapping you out. The idea of going with something smaller and more fuel efficient has crossed my mind more than once, too. The X is a fun truck, but my buddy's Ford Expedition gets the same (or sometimes better) mileage than my truck and it's twice the engine and overall size. Not sure why Nissan can't get better performance out of a mid-sized V6.

Yeah, that's definitely a challenge... But we gotta look on the bright side, at least Xterras don't run on milk... [Uh Oh !]

Hello, A cat back exhaust, K&N filter will help on the mileage part MPG.

Use Irdium plugs, synthetic oils (pumpkins)trans, engine will help smooth things out on the MPG.

Regular tune-ups and smaller tires will help too.

For every one hundred pounds you can take out of your Xterra (if you carry alot of extra stuffs), you will save approx 2% on gas.

One more thing, chips(e-bay) and wind funnels...NOT a good Idea!

Just sent for 3 ECO fuel encomizers....made one apppointment to install on the Full size dodge..
Next will be the Xterra...Hope it works to increase MPG.....(Napa is now a supplier of this item.)

There is two major companies selling and producing these fuel vapor devices, one in Canada and USA. NOT cheap...payback is 1-2 years..MY estimate.......Aloha

If can gain 1-2 miles per gallon than this is GOOD........Aloha

Xterra's were not design for High mileage.

Welp, it's looking like I'm gonna be able to keep the Xterra around... I even had a buyer lined up, they wanted it bad, but a family emergency happened and I never heard back from em.
I've always had the idea of having a classic beetle to drive around and make into a project car, and with some pay raises I found out I'm getting after the new year, I think I found one I can get and use as a daily driver. I can actually get it, keep the Xterra, and still save money.
So with that said, Theo, when is our next run up to Kaena point?

thats great to hear Mosi and Todd.. I have some stuff I need to fix on my X first. Motor mount, AC line, and I want to do my steering. But towards Jan. I should be ready to roll.. Perhaps a trip to Peacock Flats to kick off the new steering system??
