GOX 2000 shingle still up at Outlaw

I was in Ouray last week on a bicycle trip and popped into the Outlaw to see if the GOX 2000 shingle was still there. It still holds a prominent place by the front door. Just FYI for any old farts that remember back that far.

I'm in, I've done Moab and I want to see the old mining towns. How about a GOX photography run. Early morning run for sunrise photos, siesta, afternoon run for sunset and a night run back to town.

There were two shingles from GOX I, wonder if they the other one is still there.

That is indeed where the shingle still is - a lot more faded now though.

HXOC is heading to Ouray over Labor Day weekend and the following week this year (Aug 31 - Sep 7). Anyone care to join us?

I haven't been around here in a while, but this post brought back memories. On GOX III, I was one of the brave (or gullible) to take a chilly willy shot, and somebody got a great picture of it. Too bad I cant remember who

Why don't you just join us in Ouray. We have plenty of room left in the house we rented. That option would be easier for everyone.

Hey Ian, Matt from Kansas City and HXOC. Maybe you remember me, maybe not! As you know, 6 of us with 4 vehicles are heading to Ouray leaving Friday 8/31. Well, tonight ChrisMC had to back out for a family emergency...the rest of us are still going...we have a house for rent off of Main Street in Ouray all paid for..your welcome to join us as much or as long as you can in Ouray if you like..some of the Texas group will be out there also. I have to post here since I don't have your personnal email or phone number, but when you read this, you can call my cell anytime at 816-803-3008 if you want to join us anytime during the week. We will be there Friday night through Tuesday, then travel to Moab for two nights for some wheeling than travel back home Friday and Saturday...love to see ya...cheers.
