Brew Xchange @ the KOA - 05/08/01 07:56 PM

Since there is currently nothing planned for Friday night, Xrock and I would like to invite everyone who is still around to join us at our KOA cabin and adjacent hot tub for a brew xchange. Bring your favorite local/regional microbrew and we'll all share. We'll be bringing Boulevard Pale Ale and Boulevard Wheat made here in Kansas City (it's awesome stuff). Hope to see ya there!

Thanxs for the invite may I suggest you move this event to Thursday night since that could help fill in the social calendar since zip is currently scheduled for that night, might still be some beer to go around, and more people could attend since several of us will be in/or going to moab by then.

Hum…maybe I should bring some more of that tasty 12% specialty brew like last year so we don't have to drink all that weak stuff

No they're not. That was a mistake on my part. Just some left over stuff on the page.

The final schedule is now posted.

So... do we keep it Friday or do it Thursday and skip the Group Soak at the Ouray Hot Springs Pool?

Why not both?
Many people will be done soaking by early evening and might enjoy a nice bar-b-que on Thursday.

I went looking for 'Pale Rider' by Celis Brewery back in May for some out of town friends. This is what the specialty store told me... Miller bought out Celis and they are no longer are making it OR they are only making small amounts of it. They only had a few singles on the shelf at that time. Another store still had a few six packs on the shelf. If I can find some for you, I'll bring some. FWI... this is the recipe that Clint Eastwood helped to create and they made this especially for him... thus the name 'Pale Rider'!! Pretty cool, huh??!!

Re: Brew Xchange @ the KOA - 17/08/01 07:14 AM

Well I am not positive if it was pale rider. I think it was pale bock. But heck I will settle for any celis other than raspberry I liked them all but raspberry always made me sneeze.

If anyone knows of a local beer in the Boston or NW PA areas, I'd be happy to pick some up and bring it to Ouray. I know there are a couple new micro-breweries in Erie, PA...I can grab a couple samples of them. smile

Is anyone coming down from Salt Lake? I sure could use a few pints of Pale Ale from Squatters.

I'll see if I can bring a few growlers of brew from Bandersnatch, their Cardinal Ale is pretty good.

Re: Brew Xchange @ the KOA - 21/08/01 06:42 AM

I want to join the fun. Problem is they don't make any spectacular micro-brews around here. There is a brew called "Blackened Voodoo" made in Louisianna, nothing outstanding but not horrid either. I could probably bring some of that or I could bring my brew of choice, Shiner Bock!

Re: Brew Xchange @ the KOA - 22/08/01 03:20 PM

Well kids turns out they do sell shiner bock in ouray. I called a liqour store in town and they do carry it so it might be better if you brought some other beer to gox.

How bout tequiza.
