Social Event Update - 11/06/02 08:27 PM

The Outlaw Mountain Cookout has been cancelled. Sorry.
The Colorado 500 motorcycle run decided to move their date to Labor Day week for the first time ever, and they have Chris and the Outlaw Restaurant tied up for Wednesday and Thursday night catering their event.

Thursday will be interesting, as there will be about 100 motorcycles on Black Bear with my group of Xterras.

People attending GOX should be aware that about 300 motorcycles and their support vehicles will be in Ouray Wednesday about 2PM. They will be arriving west bound via Engineer Pass, so make sure you aren't going east on Engineer that late in the day.
Thursday they will be everywhere, so we'll all just have to make do and be courteous.

Motorcycles? What kind of motorcycles?

What happened, wasn't the Outlaw cookout already reserved for GOX?

Bummer.

Dirt bikes. Lot's of them with factory trucks and medical crews.

It's a charity race across Colorado, they've been doing it forever.

I have the Outlaw restaurant reserved for dinner on Tuesday, but there was no way I was going to drop $1500 to reserve the Mountain Cookout without a solid head count. Now it doesn't matter anymore (and I'll be at the Pinion that night eating Elk).

Man, that's a boat load of Motorcycles and Ouray isn't that big. Hope they don't take up all the campsites for you guys. [Freak]

If GOX is open to Frontiers next year, I'd really like to make the trip. Sounds like a blast and well organized.
