Yahoo is still jacking with the times so hopefully I can get the leagues up and running this weekend.

I would be down for a keeper, but due to the turnover in this forum it would be VERY hard to keep teams involved from year to year.

I understand the turnover issue - but I missed out 2 years ago because I missed the post about signing up for fanatsy baseball.

By the time I went to sign in, the league was already full...If you join a keeper league, it's easier to keep the same members year to year

I guess I didn't read it. I was all in the hype of playing again and thought we were joining the same one as last year. Oh well, I'll prerank. I've got a new job and kid due, so I won't be much fun in the beginning. But like always, I'll come out of no where and win it all.

I'm all for group agreements on stat categories.

As for joining both leagues, I'd rather leave some spots open so others can join in, but do what ya gotta do. As long as they're both full and we have year long participation by the owners involved, I gots no beef.

Why do we have two 10 team leagues instead of one 20 team league?! I still don't quite understand that one.

hahaha, oh man...have fun being the Commish of the XOC baseball league! Regretting it yet?? Why don't you guys all make your own leagues, I'm sure there are plenty of people on here that would sign up. Yes, I'm being serious, don't have a huff-puff, this way people can select the pool that they think is best, sign up for multiple leagues and/or if someone doesn't sign up in time they'l still have other pools to join. I personally think two 20 team leagues would be fine, one head to head the other rotisserie(best of both worlds.)

I agree with this. That's why I questioned two 10 team leagues. I don't think a 10 team league is big enough. Last year, BigE was adding people left and right because of all of us slackers that saw the threads too late(Thanks again E!! I enjoyed taking last place )

People weren't exactly supposed to join BOTH leagues. I set up the leagues very quickly in hopes of having a night draft time as the draft time slots were filling up fast.

I can change them to 12 team leagues, but I ain't touching a 20 team league. Oh HELL naw!

As for a ROTO league, every time I've played in one the bottom few teams quit playing after 1 or 2 months thinking either they couldn't catch up in points, or left due to boredom since there's basically no shit talking in a points league. Head to head seems to keep people in the game longer. Atleast here in XOC world.

If someone else wants to start up a ROTO league I have no doubt it'd feel up quick. Just not something I'm interested in being commish of.

Head to head is the only way I will play. It keeps your interest a lot longer and a few good weeks get you right back into it.

Now about that stats discussion.

Hitter stats IMO should include:

Hits, runs, doubles, triples, home runs, walks, OPS, RBI's. (these stats AT LEAST should be included)

Pitching stats should include wins, strikeouts, INNINGS PITCHED,saves, ERA, WIP. (At least these should be included)

Innings pitched was an important stat that WAS NOT included last year. I hope that it is this time around.

These are by no means the only stats that can or should be included, but I feel they are the ones that NEED to be included.

Thoughts?

I agree that IP is an important pitching stat...gauges how strong your SP horses are and can be tied into minimum/maximum requirements...OPS is nto important to me, I would rather have SB as they change the drafts and allow different approaches to win as not all players will egt enough SB to make a difference...I would loose ERA and WHIP form pitching and add CG and CGSO as they are more rare and harder to get......but that is just MHO

I am not a fan of the ROTO scoring setup as was alreayd mentioned some get bored quick...the straight fantasy points setup is my preference for baseball bas the season is so long...especially with a 20 team league or something...I find H2H can get boring after so long as well, but you can almost always catch up in the FP setup...

Whatever, I am in league #1 and intend to win either way!

Now, with two divisions, how will the ultimate XOC champ be determined?!?

That is why I was thinking haveing a H2H league and a FP league...two totally different games and approaches, two different titles.....the the two champs can face off in the thunderdome!!!

Damnit, I don't care what gay ass title your league has since I'll be playing a game that represents a real sport, I just care how the official XOC winner is determined. I don't want there to be any crying or controversy when I win again.

I didn't look yet but I'm sure I know what your team name is. If you can think of anything that everyone was complaining about in the pool last year, just let me know!

I changed the draft date, I moved it up a couple of weeks.

We still need one more owner in each of the two leagues I set up. Stats and rule changes will be made once the leagues are full so that everyone will have a voice.

I'd say I fared OK in both leagues though. BigE's league gave me a better overall team though. If only the damn starting pitchers will stay healthy this year....I know they are starting on the DL, but should be back mid to late April(or so they say).
