Not really, just some sprinkles here and there.

Nothing we can't handle. (We have a big 'ol canopy Charlie donated to the cause for the engine swap...no problems)

I've got a full day of errands on Saturday that I know. Next weekend will be good for me MOST LIKELY but I'm going to have some small stuff to do to my own truck (cb antenna install, tail light gaurds I got REAL cheap) smile Laugh if you will but I like em!

Re: Mod day - 24/11/07 06:30 AM

LOL

Tail Light Guards?

Ow.

You know they are like Brush Guards in the way they push in the metal around the lights/cause more damage, right?

Re: Mod day - 25/11/07 04:17 PM

Today woulda been a nice day for it too..DAMN but I was stuck doing other stuff and playing call of duty 4. I'm hoping next weekend will be nice like this I've got a small list of stuff to do and if it's nice out it would be a good day to get TJ finished up with his truck. Saturday (weather permitting) ?

Re: Mod day - 25/11/07 05:36 PM

Got some more done,

Started on the exhaust cross over...but can't find the bags of gaskets or the rest of the bolts.nuts for the studs I had for it...

...got the oem fan/clutch off/set up the water pump pulley so it works w/o the fan coupling, etc,...so the E-Fan can go go on....just held up on it because it requires wiring...and I was losing daylight, and color blind dyslexics are not good with wires as it is.

Left the E-Fan relay for the thermostat loop (So it goes on/off as needed based upon radiator temp), and the relay for the dash overide loop (So I can turn it off for water crossings, etc...) as ready to go units, but didn't tie them into the truck's wiring yet.

Replaced the body plugs, caulked some holes, started putting the front upholstery back in.

laugh

Next weekend I'm really hoping I can get the E- Fan wires done, get the headlights/bulbs in, put the air-box back in and connect it to the snorkel.

Re: Mod day - 26/12/07 08:11 AM

Hey guys I just got my volant and am really excited. Now I need to get this puppy under the hood. Where can I get it installed? I don't know much about intakes so I would feel uncomfortable doing the install. I'll be in florida until Jan 21 so I wont be able to get it in for a bit but if anyone can tell me where to get it installed that would be great. Or if you want to install it (at a mod day or something) I'd be willing to pay.

Re: Mod day - 26/12/07 08:13 AM

Pay? hmmmm... shocked I got plenty to do on my truck as well. I think if it was warm enough one day a mod day would def. be in the near future. You don't pay though..it's an easy enought install..

Sounds great man. It doesnt look too hard now that i've done some more research but I'd rather have someone with me who knows what they're doing. haha.

If you're not planning on adding a snorkel then too, its an easy driveway project.

I'm in the driveway every weekend...If you need help, just call me/show up.

laugh

I'm in Lawrenceville, not too far from you.

I like pepperoni on the Pizza...that aught to do it.

Re: Mod day - 26/12/07 10:48 AM

TJ, I'm getting the Snorkel from 4x4parts as a wedding present. I was thinking of just paying OK4wd to install it..Do you agree w/ that? I'm praying for warm weather...I gotta change out my rear u-joints (shouldn't take too long) and I wanna throw them skids on before the NIORA run. I also just got a nicer CB and k40 whip I was gonna wire up..

Re: Mod day - 27/12/07 07:47 PM

Well, OK could do it, but, its gonna use up mod $ wink

I'm still waiting for less stupid weather too...but, I have been laying out stuff on the ping pong table in preparation for the next reasonable day to try to do something.

Re: Mod day - 28/12/07 07:23 AM

I'm going to go with the TJM. 4x4parts says it's much easier to install and has better airflow. I'll get a quote from OK4wd or just make a weekend project out of it. I'm looking to order the 3"SL but I may hold off and just w/ the a bumper instead.. smile (I'm getting out of control now)

Re: Mod day - 28/12/07 10:31 AM

TJM makes the Safari Snorkel I have....you've seen it.

Re: Mod day - 28/12/07 11:16 AM

Thats what I figured but if you look on 4x4parts there's two different ones. I thought the longer one was made by safari and the other was made by TJM. I guess they are both made by the same company, just different styles?

Re: Mod day - 28/12/07 11:45 AM

The longer one was the ARB....the entire tube was on the outside of the truck.

The "shorter one" is the TJM/Safari...it comes through the inner fender cavity, and runs to over the wheel well, hidden inside the cavity, before popping out to run up the air pillar on the outside.

The "longer version" was really meant for the Frontier/Navarra....the shorter one was for the Xterra/Navarra.

Re: Mod day - 29/12/07 07:14 PM

On an actual Mod Day note...I finally got the E Fan mounted and the radiator back in.

I still have to wire it though, but I've got it diagrammed out, and I think I can do that in one more day.

For X-mas, my kids got me a remote video camera for under the truck. It has a tiny weather proof camera you mount outside the truck, and it has a video screen that can go on the dash or sun visor, etc...and there's no wires connecting the camera to the screen, it transmits the video wirelessly....

....so I can use it for seeing behind me when I back up, or as a self spotting camera facing forward. laugh

I also got a code scanner for X-Mas...and used it to work on my Brother's Jeep, so far so good.

Here's to hoping the weather stays vaguely reasonable.

Re: Mod day - 07/01/08 05:26 PM

well it was pretty warm today. In Mt. Laurel anyway. My iPhone told me it was but I'm still in florida. I cant wait to get back into my X and drive it! Then eventually get the volant in there.

Re: Mod day - 09/01/08 04:32 AM
