Shrock rear bumper license plate lamp install prob on '06-07 - 21/03/07 01:58 PM

It looks like the license plate lamps changed on the late 2006 - 2007 bumper. I just received my Gen2 bumper w/o tire carrier and the hole on the metal bracket shipped w/ the bumper for the license plate lamp is too small. Either going to have to enlarge the hole, get the older model plastic pieces, or find an aftermkt lamp to fit.
Jim @ Shrockworks said there isn't much he can do for now as I am the 1st they've encountered to have this newer license plate lamp.

If you notice the stencil, the one on the left is not quite symmetrical, with one end larger

The Gen 2 got a new license plate lamp wiring in May '06.

part number pre May06: 26510 EA000
part number May06+: 26510 ZP03A

got these p/n's from the dealership
cost for either is about $34.00

I dunno what I'm going to do yet
The bumper & rock sliders look good though

One easy fix is to simply get a generic lic plate light at PepBoys, etc...and insert it where the OEM one would have gone in the bumper.

I did that on my '01 anyway, as the plastic tabs on the oem light snapped off from age.

The PepBoy light was about $3 or so...

+1. I put the first one in and *snap*. DAngit, just one left! The other one snapped too after trying to seat it correctly. Gonna have to hit up a shop for a replacement light eventually, but I can't say I care too much.

checked o'reilly, autozone, & advanced auto parts. All had crappy lights. going to try pep boys but if that doesn't work I'm going to look at RV dealerships for metal ones or go to a salvage yard for the pre May'06 light

Can the housing from the 05's fit on the bulb of he 07? If so, everybody who has already installed the bumper only used one of the factory license plate lights. Maybe you can get one from of those guys.

Yeah, I was thinking about that too. I'm going to request that on the buy/sell section

It won't fit. I ran into the same issue and the dealership would only sell the whole kit including wiring harness. Good thing since the 07 bulb won't fit in the 05 light housing. The wiring harness is still plug n play though. Courtesyparts.com has the kit for $22 I think.

Quick question about the Shrockworks rear bumber W/O tire rack, does the grey powder coat option match the stock color or is it close to the same color?

It is lighter but not bad. I was told by Jim that the plastic will fade over time and end up matching. We have an 07 so or plastic is brand new.
