Garmin Warranty Service - 22/07/02 01:04 PM

I just wanted to post a note praising Garmin for excellent warranty service on my eTrex Vista. Their service center is close enough I dropped it off at their Olathe, KS plant last Tuesday during lunch and it arrived this morning.

I had reported that it would not run off the car adapter. The problem was fixed, but they also shipped me a new dc adapter at no charge. While they had it they also replaced the bezel on front that had a couple of scratches without me requesting it, updated the software to the latest release, and left intact the waypoints and maps that were loaded in memory when I dropped it off.

I had an issue w/ my Garmin eMap - the 364th day of the one year warranty, so I called thinking I may have to fork over some cash soon. They suggested I do a series of keystrokes to solve my issue and said that after a few days/weeks I'm not happy, to send it in to be fixed under warranty, free of charge.

The fix worked fine so I didn't have to bother sending it back. I'm very happy with Garmin's service.
