Calmini SAS - 26/09/07 07:56 AM

Anyone know if Calmini will sell parts of their SAS kit,

I have been thinking about this for a while but I would like to make my own arms and with different style joints.

Also I want to use a shortened D60 high steer front end.

They have not been very receptive to that in the past.... you can ask 'em but expect a no

ETA - why in the world would you want to run a D60? Planning to put 50" tires on it?

Anything more than a D44 with upgraded shafts if overkill and over-heavy IMO

If I got the cash, why not? Also it is more for the strength of the ring and pinion gears. plus a high steer with a high angel case would be sweet.

our H233B is damn near bombproof and why not have that security up front.

thanks for the Cal' info.

The H233B is more on par with a D44 than a D60. It does have a bigger ring gear (somewhere in between D44 and D60 size), but the shafts are D44 size. On the D44, it's typically not the diffs that fail; it's the shafts, and moly shafts cure that issue. The 44 is great for up to 35" tires. Anything bigger and I'd go to a D60.

(remember, we're talking old school D44's here, and not that joke of a D44 variant going in the 2005+ Nissans.

Dude put the joint down.

you do know what the 233 in the name stands for right?

233mm ring gear....... or 9 3/16 inchs.
the MF'er is hung.
also I broke my locker while the shafts and gears were just fine.
I do not know of any d44 that can boast that shhht even with moly shafts.

as for gears don't know yet. got the 4.6er's and with the ac t-case gears i got that should be good.
