is there an marked advanatge of aftermarket rim verses stock other then the obvious of weight . I am thinking stock is stronger and being an novice wheeler stock might be better .

The backspacing is the most important thing. Unless you get aftermarket rims in the same backspacing, you'll be at a disadvantage. I have wheeled my stock rims hard for years with no problems. I am running 33's with stock rims.

what type of lift package are you running? . I just got started on my lift with add an leaf and then tort twist. Wow 33s nice have an pics?
The stealerships want around $250 a rim for the 16" alloys, on e-bay or here you can get four for closer to $200 - 300 ($50 - 75) each-ish)...depending upon condition, greed, etc.
Steelies are more like $25 a pop.
The stock alloy is pretty tough, anything can be broken, but, I haven't seen one break yet (I'm sure others have...they just didn't tell me )
If you paint them yellow though, they are impervious to damage....it intimidates the rocks.
so 33s are the limit with 3" lift. can rememeber when people thought 31s were the shit . Oh wait thats me . Thanks Tj for your help . Still waiting to get the Po boy lift . I went with the add an leaf over the shackles
PML w/AAL not shackles is a less poor (More expensive), better on road/worse off road, but 1.5" higher way to go....I would have done just the shackle version myself.
