Once again... thank you!!! July 1st can't come soon enough.

Any guesses when you will have info on the lift prices and other details, etc... ?

Also, on the rear tire carrier... any options available to add a hi-lift? gas cans?

Thanks!!!

I know I saw a swing away carrier on this XOC before that held 2 Jerry cans between the carrier and body. Was that Calimini or??????Thats the one I want as I always need extra fuel.

Skid Row is probably what you're looking for. That rear bumper has the tire swing away, holds the fuel cans and a hi-lift jack. For now Calmini only holds the tire and Schrockworks has a rear bumper in the makes, don't know what's gonna be on it though. smile

The skid row is for 04 and older xterras. Calmini is the only 05 bumper on the market now.

Yep, thats the Clicky I Wanted. I will hold out for that unit. This truck is going to be built just the way I want over the next 4-5yrs.

fastdrm,

Did they actually take your order for the 5" lift? If so , how much is it? The last I checked there was no mention of it on their site.

I hope I just missed it and it will soon be available.

Since this is Manufacturer Row maybe now would be a good time for Calmini to update us on the status of their products.

Can't wait!

Just remember, the Calmini keeps the tire closer in to the vehicle. This either gives you a better departure angle or better visibility (depending on how high the tire is located).

Then you can stow your fuel and hi-lift elsewhere......

Any updates Calmini and/or fastdrmr? It would be great if we had some more info. If you have one on order how much is it?

Thanks.

Re: CALMINI 2005 Xterra Parts - 24/06/05 01:02 PM

I was hoping they would pipe up and let us know. I put my order in for the sliders and rear tire carrier. As for the 5" lift I do not know the final numbers but I do know that they will be comparable to a Toyota lift, or another equal lift. That said, its still up in the air but is probably going to be somewhere from $1,200 - $1,600. Honestly, I am willing to pay $1,600 seeing that I have paid $1,000 (3" lift) + $480 (steering) in the past.

I think Steve is a fair businessman and will price it correctly - I'm waiting for the official announcement and am ready to fork out whatever it really is. I think at this point its more of a matter of who is ready to order??? If you are considering the lift, post up or call them directly.

Hey everyone,

I just ordered the Calmini front and rear bumper.
With taxes in CA it came to around $1500.00 I already had the shrockworks sliders (since I needed them for GONE MOAB.) Steve said they should be ready for pick up the week of 7/11 or 7/18.

I am excited! I can't wait for the lift and how much will that be?

Re: CALMINI 2005 Xterra Parts - 30/06/05 09:30 AM

One more thing, if Steve and Ccalmini went to all of this trouble to R&D these things for the 05 X then why is it that me and one other 05X on XOC has actually given Steve our credit cards numbers? I see other people have posted like "I ordered mine etc..." but the reality is Steve only has two orders and is the process of manufacturing 10 of these front and rear bumpers right now. What I am saying is there are a lot of people on XOC that say they are going to get them, but maybe what were seeing is a "wait and see" approach since Steve said, myself and one other person have given Calmini credit card authorization?

Just curious if we (05 X'es that is) really support Calmini. I am convert and at first didn't like the products, but as my off roading is maturing, I really come to grow on and like the front and rear bumper for the 05X.

I don't think he has 10 in process. I asked him if I could get one by July 15-18 ish and he said "No, it would be 3-5 weeks lead time" Unless it still takes 3-5 weeks even if they are already started.

I was excited when I read above that he 10 in the works. I even planned to squeeze it into the budget before ECXC. But, Oh well.

So there won't be a steering upgrade required with the 5" lift?

If so, I may have to see about trading the 03 in! smile

Re: CALMINI 2005 Xterra Parts - 22/07/05 05:12 PM

From what I got from Steve at gone '05, the 05 will be limited in what can be modified easily. He isn't going to persue a SAS for it because of the changes.

This "lift" just drops the suspension in the front not increasing the travel.

Re: CALMINI 2005 Xterra Parts - 22/07/05 05:20 PM

Eric, you are absolutely right on the fact that the front end will not gain any extra travel, it is merely a drop. However, this has its positive issues... more clearance, better approach angles, etc. Disconnect the front sway and it'll be decent. The rear will have more flex, 2 leaves and shackles, new shocks. The front will reuse the stock shocks.

From what I have heard from Calmini, this kit will not change the geometries on the steering, so no need for upgrading that part (knock on wood)

I will happily test this package out and post some pix... just waiting, patiently. laugh

It will run between 1200-1700 for the lift.

Re: CALMINI 2005 Xterra Parts - 24/07/05 12:57 PM

Lots of people have lifts now and they ran about ~1000 for the actual lift (a-arms,shackles and leaf) and another ~500 for steering. This one may be 1200-1700 that doesn't seem all that bad.

Re: CALMINI 2005 Xterra Parts - 25/07/05 05:59 AM

That's not too bad for a drop lift. That's right in the same range as drop lifts for full-size trucks.

And remember, it won't be a measely 3", either.

True. It just sounds like a lot all at one time.
