ECXC V - 09/12/04 12:18 PM

Premature, I know, but any details at all on ECXC V yet?? More specifically a date set? The sooner a date is set, the sooner many of us can make sure we get the vacation time booked off well in advance. smile

Well, whenever it is R.C. the wonder cat will be making his return appearance...a bit larger and missing a couple testicles this year but he will be there!!!

Let me guess.....you named him "RC" because he was found (thereabouts) at Rausch Creek? smile

How is he doing BTW?

Bingo!! He is doing great...alot bigger than he was...but long and lean....His personality hasnt changed much though...still a little monster...I keep coming home expecting my Xmas tree to be tipped over from him climbing it and I'm not sure my older female cat is a big fan of his but my 4 year old male cat and he get along great...always licking each others ears and such--If I didnt know any better I'd think I brought home a gay cat!!! laugh

NICE!! Remembered your posts but never took the time to comment on your good deed!! Good show man. I donated some chicken to him at the last ECXC via Ken and his brother, Mike.

D'oh! I knew that but I guess I was thinking about the fact that next summer will be MY fourth ECXC (I only missed the first one.)

I emailed Michael about it and the dates are actually the same as last year - July 22-24 2005. Not sure about location yet either though... (forgot to ask)

Re: ECXC V - 12/12/04 02:26 PM

I don't think I have used the knife I won at ECXC yet but, it's in the door pocket and ready.

Spalind, I had forgotten all about that cat. That was funny.

Re: ECXC V - 12/12/04 04:17 PM

It would be really interesting if we did ECXC for more than 3 days. Paragon and Rausch Creek are close enough that we should be able to do both, maybe.. It would be really kool, kind of a relapse of all of the previous years together over the course of a week. ;-) Mike, are you listening.. Biggest and longest ECXC ever!!!

Re: ECXC V - 12/12/04 05:09 PM

Do you think that area of PA has enough alcohol for us to be there for more than 3 days!?!?!?!
Posted by: Anonymous

Re: ECXC V - 12/12/04 06:06 PM

Not for the NJAX folks. With the bar they set up, the alcohol won't last 4 days.

Re: ECXC V - 12/12/04 07:38 PM

I agree on doing both places it would deffinetly make it very interesting..Plus making it for 3-4 or 5 days if people wanted to would turn out a decent crowd...

Like I said I'm not missing it this year... wink

Re: ECXC V - 12/12/04 07:49 PM

The NJAX bar and grill was definitely the place to be last ECXC.. Hysterical..I think this year I'll bring a quarter keg of some local beer (Blue Point Toasted Lager)and my CO2 setup for the NJAX Badda-Bing Bar. Hehehehe. We just need some dancers.. laugh

Re: ECXC V - 13/12/04 09:10 AM

TJ will dance for you i bet. The other TJ, you know the king of the slussys, would have done anything people told him to last year. I am already looking foward to this year!

Re: ECXC V - 13/12/04 12:32 PM

A couple days would be cool but I think the problem is the cost. When you factor in $14 a night to camp, $25-$35 a day to wheel, $25 to register, food, and $ for a t-shirt it becomes an expensive undertaking. From what I gathered, most attendees don't wheel on Sunday anyway.

Re: ECXC V - 13/12/04 01:00 PM

extending it by 1 day might not be bad...that would make it into a 4 day weekend thing which I think most people could swing...and if not they can come and go as they please....

Re: ECXC V - 13/12/04 01:12 PM

I have not wheeled sunday at ECXC yet. Of course I am usally too hung over to even drive home but that is another story.

Re: ECXC V - 13/12/04 08:28 PM

Ayep....you NJAX guys are some partiers....no doubt about that.

Old farts like me like to watch you at least til ten o'clock....then it's bed-time.

cool

Re: ECXC V - 14/12/04 09:27 AM

last part of ecxc i really remember was the other TJ laying on the groud by the camp fire and putting a milk crate on his head. I think we kicked the keg, but don't rmemeber.

I agree, it ended up costing quite a bit which surprised me. Would we have to be members at both places, + pay their daily fee?

Re: ECXC V - 21/12/04 08:10 AM

I'm yet to eat my $25 worth of food. I swore I would try last year. I hoped there were kiwi's or something small and expensive. But they only had watermelon.

It's next to impossible to eat $25 worth of watermelon.

Re: ECXC V - 21/12/04 01:10 PM

Jorge you need to try harder then. You only have to eat like 36+ punds of watermelon at .69cents a pound. Quite giving up soo soon!

Don't worry, I made up for you by drinking way more than $25 worth of beer. [Spit]

Since the registration fee buys you more than just food, there's no point in trying to eat $25 worth of food. I do recall writing an extremely long winded explanation on what the registration fee went towards when you e-mailed me asking specifically what the registration fee paid for shortly before ECXC 2k4. If all I spent the reg fee on was food the last 2 years, there'd be enough food to feed everyone that was at Echo Valley Campground the last two years!

Pete's correct, ECXC 2k5 and most likely every ECXC from now on will be the same weekend in July as the past 2 ECXCs. 2k5 will be July 22nd - 25th.

I've put thought into making ECXC longer, have for the last couple years. For now, it's going to stay a 3 day weekend. Making it a longer event may allow people from further west and very southern states attend, but since pretty much anywhere ECXC would be held would be a pay-to-play park, it would get expensive real quick.

The $25 reg fee is an awesome deal for what you get IMHO.

- Ability to attend
- Kickin ECXC tee shirt
- Tons of great food
- Sat night blowout festivities
- Prizes
- Great time with great folks

What more do you want! [ThumbsUp]
