goneMOAB dates - 02/02/02 11:26 AM

Cool addition to the board. Did you know the Easter Jeep Safari is also that week? Was the date selection planned this way on purpose so we could "strut our Nissan stuff and show those [Sh]eepers what we're made of"?

On the other hand, I wonder if all the lodging is already booked, and I imagine the trails will be pretty congested, too. Still, it might be worth checking out to be a "gawker".

goneMOAB was planned to coincide with EJS.
Other brands have large turnouts, Nissan never has.

We don't plan on showing anyone up, just having a good time.

There is still lodging available if you look hard enough.

The trails will be crowded, about 3000 vehicles show up for EJS, and only about 40% actually run the EJS events.

How many XTerras do you guys think will show up?

Last year we had our tacoma national event there, we had about 75 trucks i believe.. I had fun and i was one of the most stock trucks there. wink

At this point it's anybodys guess.

goneMOAB is not an Xterra event, but a Nissan event.

GOX had 32 Xterras in 2000, and 66 in 2001.

goneMOAB currently has 21 people on the mailing list, and most appear to be Xterras.

I've had trouble getting goneMOAB mentioned to Frontier, Hardbody and Pathfinder owners.

I posted a message on the 4x4parts.com message board about goneMOAB so hopefully other Nissan owners will see the info.

Have you posted at
Freshalloy.com I know it's an all Nissan enthusiast site and it is a little ricy but you reach a lot of owners. There's a lot of guys there that just pay attention to anything and everything Nissan.

What about Pathfinderoffroad.com

These guys seem to be a group likes to travel and they seem pretty into it.

Last year I saw about 5 Xterra's in the city none looked like they were running trails. I was only there for the weekend so there may have been more during the week.

It'd be nice for us to actually have a presence there this year.

I went last year for EJS but at that time I did not have my Xterra yet frown But this year I plan on going and getting on the trails. My husband has a Frontier that we will be taking as well.

What do you expect for the crowds? 1200 vehicles! I've never been to Moab so I don't know what 1200 trucks will look like there. Are we talking Los Angeles type gridlock? Is it feasible to complete a trail like Hell's Revenge in 8 hours with traffic?

We'll find out when we get there smile

There are 30+ trails in Moab, and many of the EJS runs have 50-80 vehicles on them.

Where has all the information gone? Wasn't there a goneMoab web site? I need the dates today so I can fill out my leave form. My NCOIC told me I can go!

Never mind. My WIC said no way. The Army has one of my testicles and my wife has the other. I'm not a man anymore. Anybody want to buy a used Xterra? [Crybaby]
Here's the webpage for those that still have a pair: goneMoab
