Great photos as always. I think I will try and make it next year, how long was the drive over there? How did that tierod get bent?
Thanks
Richard
From Memphis it was about a21 hour drive.
As for the tie rod. There were several factors that we think contributed to it failing.
First is that the disconnected sway bar was hitting it and causing it to bind.
Second there is a problem with people who run the AC/SLR arms and are also running the Calmini SS. Everyone else that was running the Calmini SS and Calmini arms had no problems (Xtoolbox also bent one and he has either the AC or SLR arms - I forget)
Third was he was hopping the front end trying to get up a nasty rock when it happened. (you will see it on the video)

One of these times I will get out there. Hope real soon.
Great pics, thanks.

Nah... I ran the SLR lift for 18 months, and six of those were with stock tie-rods, 12 with EOE tie-rods. I tweaked the stock ones a bit, but nothing like that.

Would that be the rollover that you showed on Friday night, or the rollover of the silver Jeep on Saturday?

Great shots Carlton. I really wish I could have made that trip. Let's see....21 hours from Memphis, and I'm 9 or 10 hours from Memphis, at least.....hmmmmm. Need to get some folks to join me for at least part of the trip. Need to chatter with someone.
Thanks for sharing those.

Carlton,
You forgot the asymetrical installation of the steering components, no droop in the XXX lift kit, non-inverted sway bar(detailed in non-XXX lift kit installation), and the fact that I drove like to flippin' lunatic, but made it up tip-over-challenge, without the assistance that I had requested,
BTW thanks APWIRED, you were the only one providing assistance on the hill. I had great assistance fron Xtoolbox, LAXterra, and Desert Rat in the process of swapping tie rod, once I made it to the top on a very strange line.

Good stuff C!
Might be time to give the "roundy" lense back to Al.
BTW- I hate all of you and I am not at all jealous.
