Roof racks and Hi-lifts - 06/10/01 10:10 PM

I like to know how any of you carry your Hi-lift on your roof rack? I just bought a 60" Hi-lift and it won't fit in the truck anymore! I have a surco rack but they don't offer anyway to carry a jack?

Pictures to if you did something homemade!

Yes, I carry a hi-lift on my roof rack and yes, it is home made. I welded a hi-lift locking mount to my custom built roof rack. As requested, here is a pic and you can click on my link in my signature line and view other pics if you would like. Oh, and I have the 48" hi-lift, not the 60". I found it fit better. So when did you make the switch from a gasoline engine to a diesel engine?

HEHE, and you should feel the torque out of this 2-stroke detroit diesel. I now have to work on the 13 speed eaton transmission to go with it. laugh
