Re: Grandpa X - 01/02/06 09:36 AM

I hope to make it to moab for a few days of the function, darn work always getting in the way of fun.

Most of the fellas I wheel with are IFS, it is just fun to get out in the woods... hmm, maybe even drink some beverages and smile a little.

now THAT is one badass pathy [ThumbsUp] [ThumbsUp]

Re: Grandpa X - 01/02/06 12:37 PM

Now that's some REAL flex up front.

A lot os SAS Xs don't have that up front, almost like something is preventing the wheel from going into the wheelwell.

Re: Grandpa X - 01/02/06 12:49 PM

That truck would look great on an AZ run.
Posted by: Xtoolbox

Re: Grandpa X - 01/02/06 01:05 PM

Yep at one time I had both laugh

Yours looks very nicely done on pavement…one clean looking pathy…looks like you used bronco parts…WH coils, ford towers, etc.

Think my 90’ SAS pathy was a 1st at GoneMoab a few years back. Was more of a budget junk yard build with leafs but still performed great on everything I took it on for 3+ years until I sold it to focus on my bronco build.

Planning on some optional runs on Monday 5/22 to Gold Bar & Golden Spike and Friday 5/26 to Pritchett Cyn for the more built crowd. Hope you can join us [Wave] like to see how that pathy does on the tougher stuff wink

Re: Grandpa X - 01/02/06 01:28 PM

damn those are sweet, just out of curiosity, how much does it cost (ballpark figure) to SAS a Pathy vs an Xterra?
Posted by: Anonymous

Re: Grandpa X - 01/02/06 06:03 PM

"That truck would look great on an AZ run"

Thinking next year, Packman and I would both like to come.

"like to see how that pathy does on the tougher stuff"

It did fairly well with IFS, I just got tired of replacing parts, as long as it holds up I will be happy.

"how much does it cost (ballpark figure) to SAS a Pathy vs an Xterra?"

If you included your time... the Calmini kit cant be beat! However they do have a Pathy kit in the works. Now if time working on your rig is fun... well then it matters how crazy you get.

DBAX here-

Great to meet you Ryan smile Thanks again on the axle [ThumbsUp] My buddy Preston (PHXX) has great video of you from right where you took those pics, also of you humping a rock earlier on SteelBender and when you were driving backwards up that line by the dragons tail.
I'm sure I'll see you in AZ for AZRUN7, and I'm even more sure I'll chat with you before that about my SAS laugh

-an impudent or insolent rejoinder; "don't give me any of your sass"
-a slang term meaning to talk back in an impertinent way, "sass" originally referred to garden vegetables. "Long sass" refers to parsnips, carrots, and the like; "short sass" refers to turnips, potatoes, and onions. The latter use of "sass" is found even today, but it is extremely rare. The term "sass" is a corruption of the word "saucy", and first appeared in mid-19th century America and England at about the same time.

Ryan...DaveC from NPORA...just wanted to drop a note here to let you know that the Pathy is looking sweet as usual. Yours it was inspired me to mod my '94 (although I'm sure you know from the boards that I sold mine not too long ago for the X). Great pics, I'm still over on NPORA now and then...see you around. How are things coming with the Hardbody you acquired?

Here's the Pathy I sold back on Aug 6th in case you were trying to figure out who I was smile

Here's the "Grandson" wink

This is Kevin's (kev0153) old rig.

I'd really like to know if that snorkel would fit an X. I hate how all the xterra snorkels have the hook that sticks back out front at the top. It wouldn't survive very long in most of the overgrown trails I run.

No, it probably wouldn't fit an Xterra...but you're right, the design is much better when it comes to brush, sticks, limbs, etc...

Ditto, those tires look ridiculous on there...put some 38's or 39's on it and it's all good.

Re: Grandpa X - 24/08/06 03:13 PM

the wheels on that lifted pathy look like flotation devices...
Posted by: Anonymous

Re: Grandpa X - 25/08/06 12:38 AM

for sand they work pretty good because of the bigger foot print..
Posted by: Anonymous

Re: Grandpa X - 25/08/06 04:05 AM

I'm sure it works good in sand, but having the wheel wider than the tire thread doesn't look good. The wheel could be a good 2 or 3 inches narrower and the tire would then look normal for the wheel.

Wouldn't there be a higher chance of the bead coming off with a wheel too wide for the tire?
