Torsion Bars replacement - 19/09/14 11:12 AM

Hey guys ! I'm part of an Xterra club down here in Brasil and we're having trouble with snapping torsion bars . We were wondering if anybody ever replaced/adapted the bars system for the coil spring kind . All of our Xs are like the 04 US model . They stopped building in 2008 . Cheers
Thanks in advance

We replace them with Sway A Way (SAW) torsion bars. They have higher quality metal and last longer. They are also stiffer/larger diameter which helps when you're lifted, eand armored, etc.

SAW makes about all the bars you'll see, but everyone slaps their own labels on and paints them different colors.

To answer your question about converting to a coil spring, it's rare to see it done. you odn't ave much room to work with and no one makes a kit for it that I know of.

as far as the SAW torsion bars go, Sway a way makes a great and product and I highly recommend them.

They are also available here:
