Desert Rat

So being that there are dozens of "Desert Rat" stores in the valley I went in to find out about a new intake for my new Xterra. When I brought up the name Volant the guy immdidetly told me to avoid them at all cost, that they refused to carry them due to their many problems. I've done the search button and can't seem to find much negative feedback on this intake system so I was wondering if anyone could fill me in? I would think a closed in air intake system would be good....

Desert Rat is still around? I used to order from them a lot for my Toyotas. they have a lot of stuff and very cheap!

i've had a volant CAI on for about a year now and so far i've had no problems with it. there are others out there but i chose volant because it had an enclosed box. it may not be completely sealed but i think that the box will minimize dust to the filter a bit more... or not. either way, i'm happy with volant.
