Bilsteins are rumored to be available in late March or early April.

bilsteins were standard on my tacoma with the trd pkg. i've never had ranchos so i cant compare. they are much stiffer than the regular shocks yielding in quicker response. you can take a speed bump at 30mph and not really even notice it. i would predict that off road the bilsteins would also help reduce bottoming.

Please elaborate. I would think that with a stiffer shock a speed bump would be worse. I ask because there are speedbumps every 4 feet on Michigan's roads (OK, we call them potholes). But seriously, I would spend the cash on new shocks in a heartbeat if they soaked up the bumps better than the stock ones.

a soft shock tuned for plush road manners isnt very good in soaking up larger bumps that driving offroad tends to dish out. a stiffer shock will absorb the shock and give you a quicker rebound equalling a better ride over the harsh stuff and those pesky speed bumps.
