2002 Nissan Skidplate/Bumper Guard - 28/06/02 09:25 PM
If ya aren't into the effort of an ARB and arent about the Calmini winch bumper, Xterraparts
is selling a Nissan built front end skidplate/bumper guard. It basicly replaces the flimsy lower
front bumper piece which is plastic with a metal piece it seems.
Check it all on the site. Looks kinda cool if you want to keep the stock front-end.

So is this just another brush guard that is all for show or does it offer some real improved protection? How thick is 16 guage metal?

This ?
16 guage is 1/16" thick. Don't expect that to bear any sort of load or take abuse.

Seems to be a fancy version of the Westin safari bar... Good for lights and nothing else. But for folks not off-roading, etc. this thing is pretty sweet looking and compliments the 2002 very well.

If that piece replaces only the lower bumper on a 2002, it doesnt even come close to the existing engine skid.
