Sounds like bad shocks

When I have someone sitting in the back seat of my Xterra and I go over a bump it sounds like the rear shocks bottom out. I had them checked and they said that everything looks fine and everything was nice and tight. The bumps I'm talking about are not that big. Any ideas?

rear suspension bottoming out has been a very common problem with the 05+ Xterra's.

you can search for some threads on the topic, and I believe you'll find some people running Timbren bumpstops to alleviate the problem.

So far so good (no bottoming out) on the '07 OR. I'll have to check the leaf pack versus other club members '05 and '06s for any visible changes.
