trail riding lift kit research - 19/09/06 08:10 AM

I am looking to lift my 06 4x4 just maybe 2-3 inches to help with off roading angles. I pretty much stay on trails and slick rock with the occasional mud pit. I don't rock crawl at all with it. My question is will the spacer lift and rear shackles do for me or is there a need to up grade to the 600dollar coil front lift?
Articulation is somewhat important but again I dont rock crawl this is just my get away from the crowds rig.

$600 coil lift? Not sure where you get that figure.

check out www.4x4parts.com for coils and shackles. I believe it is $200, plus you will need to have it aligned after installation. I also had the coils installed professionally. total cost was around $400 for everything.

Coils with Shackles or AAL (lift and level)
Front 2.5"
Rear 1.5"

Coils with Shackles and AAL
Front 2.5"
Rear 3.0"

Of course this all varies if you have a winch bumper, rear tire carrier, etc...

I never measured.

final question...the kit for under 200 at 4x4parts.com says something about the rear shackles needing bushings. How is that corrected? Is it even something to worry about?
