When are longer brake lines needed? Are oem lines long enough when adding 2" shackles or do I need to grab some longer ones before installation? Thanks. :p
You're brake lines are fine... I'm pretty sure you can even complete a 3" body lift without extending the lines, don't quote me on that... but I've got shackles and no problems... have fun! It's a simple job... and to make it a little easier, you don't have to even take your tires off (I know many people did)...
I have 3" susp and 3" body lift on my X, and the stock lines are all fine. The only thing that had to be done was to add a rework for the passenger side where all the brake lines come down to the frame. That was done when the body was lifted. Not a big deal.

Ok I guess my question is if I want to lift my Xterra from bone stock to a 1-1/2" lift all I need are the above shackles?
Correct... shackles are all that is needed to lift the rear of the vehicle... do this, then if it looks like the front needs to be raised, you can adjust the torsion bars, but must get an alignment afterwards...

I did the shackles about a month ago and never needed an alignment afterwards. Make sure you mark the adjuster bolt with a marker so you put it back in the same spot. The hardest part of the whole thing was finding someone to move the exhaust out of the way for me while i took the stock shackles off.
