on the left out? On the passenger side, the bolt torwards the rear won't come out. The other one came out without any problem. This one is in there in such a way you really can't get a good hit on it with a hammer.

you can get a small torch, and burn the rubber out from the a arm ( but carefully )
or cut the bolt off

The only torch I have is a propane one. How would it help to burn the rubber bushing away? I've got one stuck one each side now. On the drivers side, the bac bolt came right out. It's the front one that is stuck. mad

we just aimed at the bushing, ( between a arm and the bracket that is welded to the frame ) and just let it burn for couple of minutes ( pay attention to stuff around , wires, and brake lines )

then when you smell ruber burning stop the torch, and try to hit the bolt again
then burn some more, then hit, then burn , then hit wink ( it worked on 2 trucks )

I should have a Sawzall in about 1 1/2 hours so I hoping to just cut the bolts off. laugh

unless you did something really bad to that bolt it should not be that difficult to remove.

nissan doesnt use anti seize grease on their bolts like they should. the problem is the bolt rusts to the metal sleeve in the rubber bushing and it then becomes seized together. you can try to apply heat to the sleeve and bushing area, then take a big breaker bar and keep working at it. the best way is to either cut if off with a torch or use a sawzall to cut the bolt off. its a grade 10.9 bolt so make sure you have a few extra blades.

CM, my X has been through a LOT of mud and water in it's 90,000+ mile life. The bolts were very rusted. Two came out, two didn't. I cut them with a Sawzall. Problem solved.

On a side note, How tight do you tighten those bolts back? I don't remember seeing anything on it.

Did you get the nut off? and you just cant remove the bolt? Try putting a jack under the brake and taking a little pressure off it. It should easily remove.

I had the same problem when I did my UCA's last month, except ALL of my bolts were seized in. I cut the bolts off on the drivers side with a SawzAll, but ran out of blades when I got to the passengers side. Then out came the torch. We cut off the bolt ends enough to be able to "persuade" the stock UCA (with bolts still inside) to come out with a little bending/deflection of the frame brackets.

It was a roral PITA, but in the end it got done! [Too much XOC]
