Should I be surprised that while driving, my 2002 stock rear shocks both BROKE at the spot where the bottom bolt is fastened??? Quite dangerous as I was just driving on a paved road. Next thing I know I am bouncing like a MF. COuld believe when I got out to check the suspension that both shocks were BROKEN. Anyone ever hear of such things?

Yep, heard it, seen it and doesn't suprise me at all. Weak welds at that spot cause it to happen.
Time to upgrade.

Yep... I have seen it happen once right in front of me. And the aftermath on 2 more.
Mine were dead after the first year so if you ran yours this long I would say they did pretty well.
