What kind of Bilstein shocks are on the off road? I check their web site and they have nothing for the X. and why does the OR and the base X get the Bilstein shocks and not the S or Se model?

IMO, leaky crappy Bilsteins come standard on the rear of the OR.

Yup I'd agree mine leak like crazy and have since about 2months after new. POS shocks if you ask me I just haven't got around to replacing them yet.

Only the OR model has the Bilstein shocks (front and rear). My front shocks are stock with AC coils and 42K miles on them and no problems. The rear are aftermarket extended travel Bilstein's.

As for where you get them, the dealer is the only place I know of for the front. They are made by Bilstein for Nissan and do not sell them outside of Nissan. I can only imagine how much the dealer would want for them.

Bilstein currently lists replacement shocks for the Titan in the HD line "Recommended shock for most applications, designed to work with the springs that came with your car." This a new listing. They also have shocks for pre-05 XTerras and Frontiers.
The Titan shocks list for $121 each but are avaialble from www.allshocks.com for $67.95 each. I suspect that they will soon have HD shocks available for 2nd Gen X's and Frontiers. Replacement Bilsteins are guaranteed for life.

For whatever reason...the Bils on the OR have been springing leaks... They must have spec'd some sort of cheaper model so they coud SAY they have Bils under there...its not like ANY of the stock shocks have been anything to write home about...but Bils leaking when new for no apparent reason sucks.
