Front propeller shaft lube point

Front propeller shaft lube point - 14/12/06 08:33 PM

Kind of interesting...I have read many of the posts (and looked at the pictures) on the front propeller shaff lube point on the 2000-2004 X's but while inspecting mine a few weeks back it looks quite a bit different. Furthermore, I just received my factory service manual today and it doesn't even mention lubing the front propeller shaft although it does mention "inspecting" it. Trying to get to the bottom of this I then went to the blown up diagram of the front propeller shaft and no lube point is shown (at least on that diagram).

Has anyone out there personally lubed their front propeller shaft on an 05+?

No... I'd have to look for grease fittting, but it isn't a double cardan or cv shaft. just single u-joints on both ends and a pretty straight shot from the t-case to the diff.

Thanks Mike! That makes sense then--it may not ever need to be lubed as there is nothing to lube.
