Tree Saver strap - 10/12/04 10:46 AM

I'm looking to get a Tree Saver strap and am unsure of what to get. What weight rating should I look for and any brands that would be recommended or to be avoided.

Thanks

Tree saver straps are a bit different from yank straps, since they're being used as stationary anchors you don't need 20k-30k ratings like a yank strap. As far as bad brands I've never heard of anything bad about any brand. Just make sure the stap is about 2" wide and has tough, well made loops that can handle the weight of the Xterra.

Mine is a Warn, came with their extraction accessory kit. It's about 6' long with good seams sewing the loops shut.

Oh, and remember to get a good heavy duty shackle with it to connect the loops together when it's around the tree, you don't want to pull one loop through the other as an anchor.

Masterpull.com has some sweet straps as well. Thats what I've been using. Its a lot easier on your hands too.
