***NOTE THE DATE CHANGE TO 6/21-22***

Yay for NCCX trip #1 for 2008!

BTW, I need a trip leader for this one as I'm not 100% sure I can make it. frown BUT I will try!

Anyways, until we have someone to lead here are some details on Niagra Rim:

This trail is rated for all vehicles 2WD to hardcore 4WD. So there's something for everyone. There are also both developed and undeveloped campgrounds there.

Directions to the camp site at the Niagara Rim OHV Area:

# CA-108 to Strawberry ( 43 miles east of Sonora)
# Look for forest road 5N01 (may also be signed Eagle Meadow Road ) just past mile marker 42
# Turn right and go about 300 yards to the intersection with Forest Road 6N24
# To reach the Niagara OHV Campground area
# Turn right at the 5N01/6N24 intersection
# Stay on Forest Road 5N01 and go about two miles to the intersection of Forest Road 5N09

Dean\'s track-log from 05

Best quote from a very old tread when we last did Niagra!

"This trip resulted in the most carnage (# of incidents) we've ever had on an Xcursion. (Let's hope it stays that way!)"
-Dean

[LOL]

***So we need meeting times and locations, and people to sign-up!***

Niagra!

Perhaps the Jeep will make it this time without the steering pump pulley exploding in Mantica? Should I risk it? smile

Yup, looks like Father's Day is the 15th...I'll be moving the date so that people can attend. BTW Roxy, you can easily make it out there and run the mild trails, you can also catch a ride for the rougher trails.

Too true. If you plan to "wait a bit" for fuel prices to go back down, though, I'm afraid you'll be waiting a very very long time.

Nevertheless, with fuel prices becoming a significant cost of enjoying our passion for getting off the pavement, we have to really pick and choose the "worthiness" of our destinations, now, and perhaps even "save up" some money just so we can take a weekend camping trip, eh?

Also, if enough people cant make it for this one, could we at least move it later into the summer? Already got July 4 plans so i cant make that run unfortunately.

Can't make this one. I have been having strange dizziness, sinus, allergies and all these symptoms are affecting my ability to drive and function in a normal way. Let's see what the doc says next Monday...

HI all,

Unfortunately, due to insufficient participation in this trip, it is being cancelled. My apologies to those of you who were looking forward to this trip. Instead, please take a look at the NCCX calendar and propose an alternative weekend to make this run if you're still interested.

Thanks!
