What's up fellas,

Just checking in and sayin hi. here's my story, I live in the Bay area, but go to school in Tucson. I'll be back in the Bay in December, and was wondering if you guys wanted to get a run started around mid december b4 christmas. Also since I am graduation in May, I'll be moving back, and from there I'll start modifying my truck up the wazoo. So in like 8 months, I should be a regular here
right now I run a stock xterra X 4X4. I would like get my legs dirty in mud as opposed to extreme rocks.

mud is easy on the body work, but hard on seals, brakes, air filters, and anything else that moves. If you get it into the crossmembers, it may be there forever :rolleyes:

out of curiosity how lively is the northern CA XC, as all of my mod's and runs will be made from there. just want to see what I'm getting myself once i move back to Palo Alto

NCCX is mostly more active from spring through fall (especially between June and September), since there are few 4-wheeling opportunities worth visiting that aren't covered in snow in the winter. Also, most of the really good trails are ~4 hours from the bay area, so trips tend to span a weekend (and include camping). This fact explains why traffic in this forum has slowed considerably since the weather has started to cool.

There may be discussion of a trip to the central coast in the winter, but with the holidays coming upon us, it's getting hard to find a free weekend.
