Initially, I was going to do a one day run because I had commitment to go rock climbing on Sunday but someone took my place. I am free now to go wheeling Saturday and Sunday. Yeepee!

1. Huey (P-town and in for 3 days)
2. Dean (P-town and in for 3 days)
3. Matt (assuming I can find a house by then)
4. Patrick (3 days)
5. Geoff and coworker (campsite on river, Sat afternoon, 2 days)
6. Steve (campsite on river, Sat afternoon, 2 days)
7. Mark (Spiderman X)
8. Mike (GMC small truck - Off-road package)
9. Rommel (P-town and in for 2 days)

Yup, I'm going to head out on Sunday. It should work out because then I can use my Jeep to extract your wimpy Yotas when they get stuck. smile

Good, cause I was getting worried there...

Huey/Dean,
When you stop for groceries, if you have room can you squeeze in a box of fruit flavored popsicles?
I'll pay you back.

Geoff, my fridge will be full of refrigerated foods, and won't be configured for freezing on this trip, so popsicles won't survive.

Sorry! frown

It was nice meeting you Patrick and Mel.

Hope the rest of the group had a good trail run today. Here's my pics. Best viewed with IE so you can see the thumbnails. High res versions available upon request, just let me know which number.

I have this one .

I got it for about $350 as a factory-reconditioned model from the manufacturer\'s website .

A friend of mine uses a much smaller Waeco model as a freezer, in which he stores frozen water bottles and other frozen foods. He then transfers the water bottles to a standard large ice chest to keep his food cool. As the water melts, he just trades them for frozen ones. In doing this he is always able to have both frozen and refrigerated foods during extended camping trips.

Oh and Dean, I noticed Tadgear has the CR123A batteries for $1.25 each or $1.11 each depending on how many you get.

Mikey and I had a great time as well (until we got stuck). That made for a lot of seat time in one day! Here are our pics:

Mark,

nice photos! I forgot my cameras for our trip. [Freak] Thank you for reminding me how beautiful the Sierras are. [ThumbsUp]

After camping [Sleep] overnight next to the river under Salt Springs Res, we took the same route to blue lake as you. We actually thought we wouldnt make it up that dirt bypass, so we ended up running through that snow bank and after 4 or 5 tries with some onlookers, me made it up and through.

Rick and I both thought deer valley was pretty insane. I think we'll have to join the rest of you for better adventures in the future!
