Ok, here is another try. This time I hope to get some takers!

Date: May 8, 2004
Time: Early AM through all day.

I plan on either going to Stonyford, CA or somewhere better (Suggestions welcomed) - but it depends on road conditions. More details to follow.

This is not an Xterra day, I have a liberty, but I think that is what makes things interesting. This will be a day where a stock Xterras would do just fine, so anyone new who would like to take his or her rig out, please do! Furthermore, anyone with some experience they would like to share would be appreciated.

How far is that from San Jose? I might join in if I get a limited number of takers... but only would be able to come on the 8th for the day.

What about running up to Lovelady ridge or up by Gold Lake near grass valley in the Plumas National forest?

don't know anything about them. Would they keep me entertained for the entire day? Got any pics? How difficult?

Not quite sure what would keep you entertained lol I know they would keep me entertained.....great scenery....rated for stock SUV's.....but then again my tastes are a little less extreme than everyone elses since I still have payments to make :-)

They are both in the Norther California Backcountry adventrure books for the SUV owner

Well Lovelady Ridge Trail is exactly where Stonyford is, so thats an excellent idea. The other one looks good as well. Since Lovelady is so close to the other Stonyford area where the trails can be explored - theres gotta be all kinds of stuff. I haven't been up there, but I'm on the lookout for some good water to drive through.

I'm not sure if you saw my reply in your previous thread, but if you're just looking for some place to go with other people, you're more than welcome to come along with my club to our trail cleanup. It's a good trail for beginners and it's a day trip.

Here's the details: http://www.yotatech.com/showthread.php?t=30785

Also, there's a guy on yotatech who wants to go to hollister this Sat too:
