Man i didn't think this would be so hard to find. I keep checking craigslist, auto trader for portland and seattle and not much luck. Anyone selling one is either a dealer, or asking 2-3k above retail blue book. If anyone knows of someone selling i'm looking for a 00-03 se 4x4 automatic prefferably se, just not s/c (unless its a real nice deal) and no black ones. I'm in portland but will travel for the right one.

2-3k over retail is usually what the dealers do...its bargaining room. If you do your research, and know your stuff, there's no reason you can't barter the price down to what the specific x is worth/what you're willing to pay.

There's no 00-03 x's in your area?? Here in Vancouver people are unloading their x's due to the gas prices!!

Oh no, the dealers are like 5k over retail blue book. I know how it works, i sold cars for almost 2 years so thats enough back and forth negotiation for a life time. I tried one yesterday and it took me an hour just to get the price out of them. I just don't have the patience anymore.

If ur spending the time to research and look for the right truck, what's another hour or so to negotiate? If u sold cars before, negotiating should be easy for you, no?

If u don't want to buy from a dealer, just be 'patient' (ironic enough) and keep checking ur classifieds i guess. Goodluck! [ThumbsUp]

well i found a red xe 4x4 auto last night with all the power options. It looks good and runs great but its a little high on milage. 111k Only thing is i can pick it up for 8k (then need to spend 1k on timing belt). I just don't know if i want to do it becuase i have no idea about these long term. I mean the civic was easy. I bought it with 122k and drove it to 200k and only had to do replace the radiator.

I've been wathing Craig's List in the NW for a while too. I've seen a few X's come up between 9 and 10 K. My observation is that those disappear fast, within a day or two.

Keep watching and pounce when one comes up.

My understanding of KBB and the like is that they are simply "estimators". Their data comes from sale surveys. What matters is what they actually sell for. The dealers are asking for even more because they are getting a good portion of it.

I found 2 up your way i'm going to try and check out this weekend. I'm a little skeptical about a 00 with only 30k though. then theres a 01 with 46k both se autos 4x4's. It just sucks cause one can only meet on saturday and the other only on sunday so i either got to get a room or drive up both days (which would suck from portland).

Alan Webb Mazda in Vancouver has a Yellow 2000 auto. I made an offer on it (11k), which they were ok with. BUT, the radio is non-functional and they aren't going to fix it; they sent it over to Alan Webb Nissan to check on the radio and they called back with the no fixy, and also say they found an issue with the front suspension (no details).

It has 89k miles, auto. And except for those two issues and the previous owner having a dog, wrong tires - 265/75/16s and them rubbing, it was in very good shape.

Got an '01 5-speed instead.

I didn't notice the odor (my wife did), but the dog hair in the carpet was annoying.

Trying to decide on upgrades for this one. Probably going to remove the stock tubes and put on Shrock sliders, SLR Steering upgrade, SLR torsion bars, Bilsteins and PML.

crap i would have bought that. Who did you trade it too? Most of the big dealers won't keep 100k + cars but maybe.

I drove by this one today.

2001 Yellow 4X4 Xterra in Seattle

Just now I searched to find the link to the vehicle and found the price. $17.5K. They are smoking way too much crack that far up Aurora.
