Who would be up for doing a ModDay at ShrockWorks in Houston around the end of May or early June? Jim seems pretty up for the idea, we just need to set a date and let him know how many of us are going to attend.

Please reply here if you are interested.

(The weekend of June 6 is out due to the Plant Tour taking place then.)

I still need to do the transmission cooler. Would be a good time to get some new sliders too smile and let someone get my EOE sliders.

I am there if it's late May.....

I spoke to Jim about the mod day and he gave me some info..

First.. He requests that you bring your own tools. He is willing to help out as far as welding stuff goes but as far as tools.. BYOT :-)

Second.. He said the best times would be on a weekend to do this (I think that is what everyone wanted to do anyway)

Third.. He is flexable with the date.

Nobody wants to do the 31st of May? If we want to do this, Jim needs a date we will be there (just one day projects, no two-day mods) and a time we will be there.

I say May 31st starting at 0800. Any takers? If not, when?

You have any idea how much the sliders that place makes cost? If they arent too bad I could see myself picking up some that day and installing them there. Any SWXC discount? The 31st would be ok for me, Im heading back from New Mexico on the 23rd of May, should be in town until early june.

$348 with powder coat
$298 buck naked

As for discount, at the meeting it was discussed ShrockWorks *may* offer free shipping or 10% off, BUT, again BUT nothing has been set in stone yet.

Could someone explain to me what a Mod Day is? I get the jist that you guys are adding mods on a certain day, but what exactly does it mean.

X-chosen, A "Mod (Modification)" day is just that. We get together to install mods. Everything from HiLift mount carriers to complete lifts and steering systems. Some of us have done a few mods on our truck already and that really helps to have this experience around. I am sure you have worked on your vehicles and wished you had someone standing right there to ask for help or suggestions.

Of course some mods are just not a one man job too. It also helps to have a place where tools and space are available. It's hard to do a lift in an apartment parking lot.

Finally it's just a good time and a few laughs when things do not go as planned. Right Gary ???? smile

I think our last two newsletters at www.swxc.org have a pretty good synopsis of what a ModDay is and what we do/did. I am a bit partial though. smile

As for ModDay III it looks like we do not have enough people (read: more than 1) who needs to do anything, so let's tentatively reschedule for sometime in June.

Thanks for the info. I do actually know what a "mod" is wink I just purchased my second Xterra. The first was a 4x2 that looked great but couldn't get the job done. I just purchased an 03 4x4 sc. I was kind of curious about modday since I know I have a pretty good list of things to change of the Xterra. I could use some advance and a little supervision before I start tearing things up.

A MOD DAY is something that happens to your truck, and changes it, so never will be what it used to be...

Now, guess which truck was in a MOD DAY:

[Freak]

Of course, while the MOD DAY, you wonder if you´ll be able to return home driving it, or will have to collect pices and send it home by FedEx or UPS... laugh

Another definition: MOD DAY its an event where you can get tools for free from your friends:

And, if everything goes ok, you´ll be the proud owner of a eye-catching and sometimes frightening (depens how close you are of the bumper when it is moving) XTERRA !! laugh

regards,
