The Texas State Fair this year is going to have a HUGE Nissan section, with a big majority of that focused on the Xterra and what Nissan calls 'the Xterra lifestyle'. (One X devoted to SCUBA diving, one to mountain biking etc) The Hummer Team in Dallas has been tabbed by Nissan North America to set up the pavilion, displays and all that fun jazz. They have also asked if any of us would be interested in helping out. Nissan is supplying the X's, so you do not have to volunteer and/or leave your beloved truck behind. All you need to do is help out and have some fun! So...

Who would be interested in helping set up the Nissan display at the Texas State Fair?

I am interested, so that is one.

I will inquire about that, and get back to ya just as soon as I get a response.

(But the fair is in October, so sometime before that...)

I think I'd be up for it. Since you asked about using my X the other day, do they still need it or no?

There is currently no need for any of us to donate our vehicles to be displayed.

I'd love to do it. I live in Dallas so i'd be easy to get to. Also, it'd be the first "meeting" type of thing I've been to so it'd be a great place to meet some fellow members.

The state fair is at the end of Sept to the middle of Oct. As those days approach, the Hummer Team will have a more definate date for us. I know that is vague, but that is where we stand right now.

OK,

For all you who have sent me emails and are Jones'in to know, here are some updates with the state fair stuff:

We are going to be able to help set up the 'lifestyle' displays. Right now there are about 6 Titans, 6 Xterras and a number of Pathfinders. They also may need help setting up the big screen TVs and what not.

No date has been set because the state fair has not let Nissan know what dates they are allowed to set up yet. Once they know, we will know.

We have also been asked to hang out in the pavilion with the Hummer Team and talk Nissan shop with people during the fair. If you are willing to do this, there may be discounted fair ticket prices in it for you (details forthcoming on that).

If you have any really good video and/or pictures you would like played/displayed, send them to me. Nissan has final says on which ones 'go up', but they will be using most, if not all, of em.

Sadly, because of liability, no outside vehicles are gonna be used (ie we cannot display any of our trucks). But we have been asked for input on what they can do to make a really cool rock crawling rig/display.

That is all for now. As I know more, so will you. smile

Do we know what they are looking for, I have a bunch from the last GOX, and a few from Barnwell. Are they looking for prints? or electronic versions. How about a powerpoint presentation? Get some details man!

E-versions are best so they can incorporate them into their show. They are just looking for anything neat-o that is the Xterra. Also, they are goign to do a little something about our club in their print magazine, so good photos representing the club and/or club members would be nice too.
