I'm new to this kind of thing, so be kind if I break etiquette!

I just got a 2003 2wd 5 speed Xterra that I plan to tow behind my motorhome and would like to hear from others who tow their Xterras four wheels down. In particular, I would like to know what position you leave the key in in the ignition.

Thanks for the help. confused

Hi there new Xterra owner.... most of the people you find here tow WITH their X instead of towing it with somthing else... atleast that's what I know about the SoCal folks... you might wanna post to the general forum or another.... if not there, I'd suggest searching about RV websites for more info on towing vehicles.

just making suggestions, I don't have any real answers to your question... smile

I believe you may need to disconnect the rear driveshaft to flat-tow the X, but that may apply only to automatic transmission models...

(As for the key position, you only need it to be in the position that allows the steering wheel to be unlocked.)

This link may be of use to you.
