I know its long (22 minutes) but its worth it. Wait till the Manager lady comes on... It escalates to three different people, NONE of them get it. The Manager even gets in the caller's face a bit.

I would go ballistic. I can't believe how calm the caller remains. I'd send them a check for 71 cents (.71 dollars) and dare them to take me to court.

Can someone give us a cliff notes version of it, I am at work and can't listen to sound.

Verizon quotes their data transfer rates at ".002 Cents per Kilobyte" when you sign up for a plan in Canada.

One new customer got his first bill and was surprised to receive a bill for $71 when he'd only used 35,829Kb. Most sane people who had a relatively sound grasp of mathematics in 3rd grade would understand that .002 cents x 35,829Kb = 71.66 cents. They billed him 71.66 Dollars.

He called them on it... got transferred around to several different supervisors and managers and they all tell him that he's full of crap.

I think their computers have a "rate" box that says ".002" and they're too daft to get that its .002 DOLLARS or .2 CENTS. Either way, he has a signed quote from Verizon that says ".002 cents" so they're f*cked.

What's really great is all the youtube comments on the video from people who don't get it...

The youtube comments were as funny as the clip because of that. A lot of potential Verizon employee posting comments on youtube.

Seriously, I'll bet their billing is set up for dollars not cents and probably not enough space to add a couple of more zero's (which is what it sounds like these people are)

Edit: Just asked the 14 y.o Glad to see he can't be a Verizon employee as he knows the difference :p
