Hello all. I have just purchased a 2000 SE with 52k and I just found this sight. It is very impressive! A couple of ?'s. First, I just saw the thread on the cracked manifolds, does the dealership replacement hold up? Second, there are some scratches on the plastic liner panel just above the toneau cover points..can they be repaired? Thanks, I look forward to spending some time here.

Yes and maybe, make sure you get the manifold thing checked out you have until 60k to get it replaced under warranty. As far as the plastic repair, that will all depend on how deep they are.

FYI since your new I invite you to look around at all the areas on this site and try the search feature, its a ton of help and will keep you from getting ripped on at this site, enjoy your new X.

are you sure 60k, dealer here in jax told me 100k, guess i better go back and get that in writing.

If your used truck is Nissan certified, then they often give you an extended warranty of up to 100,000 miles or 72 months. But I would get it checked anyway. I bought my X used and at 45k, the manifold was already cracked. Dealer replaced it in one day free of charge. Get it checked out now and when you hit 90k, you can go back and get another one replaced before your warranty expires.

Not sue if you guys are aware that there is a new manifold part out now, the new one looks to be of better thicker material and hopefully will not be as problematic as the orginal. Anyway if you do a manifold search in the Probs/Annoy area you should find the part number, cheers.
