how do you keep paints on windshield wipper arm from fading away? i noticed that most of the cars i had had bare metal on wipper arm by 4th year or so..

I am not sure of away to keep it from fading but they aren't hard to remove and repaint if this happens. Done it before with an Opel GT.

I have a scratch on mine from when I opened the back hatch in the garage and it hit the garage door. I am going to paint it this weekend.

Try a coat of clear on the arm. Take it off first, though, to prevent any overspray on the rest. This would give an extra layer of protection, and make them shiny like the rest of the paint.
